When I first listened to this song, I was kind of half listening to the words thinking it was an okay song, then it got to the end and it hit me, all of a sudden it made sense. Now it’s one of my favourite songs, I just love the story and how it builds right to the end.
‘Cause that’s just the way He was raised When people start to gossip, He’d just walk away He always loved his neighbor no matter what they’d say Oh, that’s just the way He was raised
Oh, that’s just the way He was raised there’s no way we can measure The sacrifice He made He knew He had to die For our debt to be paid Oh, that’s just the way He was raised
I love this song by Chris Young, the words are lovely – and it reminds me of the box full of memories that I have collected over the last 10 or so years.
Don`t forget the little moments They`re the ones that mean the most When the way home seems so far away Take `em out and hold them close And take a picture with your father Cause one day he`ll be gone And don`t forget to fill an old shoe box Full of things to look back on
